Running z/OS 1.10 + Hercules 3.12 + Ubuntu 17.04

Issued VARY XXX,OFFLINE on z/OS
Restored the volser.cckd file from backup taken a few days ago
Issued VARY XXX,ONLINE

Browsed a dataset on the restored volume via TSO and the contents did not change.
Is Hercules keeping cached copies ?

Rstored "the" file? cckd files have two components - the base that
doesn't change, and the -1 (etc.) file that contains the changes. Did
you check how many files you have for that volume, and restore all of them?

Just want to add that after recycling Hercules and IPLing Z/OS, the restored DASD looks like the one restored from backup. I don't have any shadow defined for any dasd.
