Discussion:
[hercules-390] POLL: How many people are using Herc on 32-bit systems?

Question: How many people using Hercules are actively using it on 32-bit systems? Should Hercules continue to support 32-bit platforms? Or should we drop support for 32-bit builds of Hercules due to the pervasiveness of 64-bit systems these days?

What I'm trying to get a feel for is whether there are any Hercules users out there that are still ACTIVELY USING Hercules for work/play on 32-bit hardware (as opposed to simply "testing" Hercules to make sure it runs okay on 32-bit hardware, which I would not consider to be "actively using").

Anyone?

What is the rationale for dropping 32 bit builds support ?

I'm! Please don't drop hercules i686 support, if you can.

I often run hercules on old, small, low priced
systems which are more than enough to run OS/VS2 or VM/370,
in the 30-40 MIPS range, with <1Gb RAM (thanks to Paul
31-bit memory access I may even use the GCC compiler in all
of its glory on these systems).

The i686 platform is still alive ;-)

Peppe.

I am. All the world's NOT a 64-bit x86.
