Just a quick reminder:

if you don't receive your Free Upgrade or New Release notification emails, please check your SPAM folder.

Some ISPs (not all thank goodness, but some) tend to classify such emails as being SPAM and not the legitimate business email that it is.

Thanks.

Have a safe and joyful holiday season everyone!

Subject: ** ANNOUNCEMENT ** New release of SoftDevLabs products
** New Updated Release of All SoftDevLabs Products **
Software Development Laboratories is pleased to announce new updated
versions of all of its Hercules products.
http://www.softdevlabs.com
This new release is a minor incremental improvement over the previous
release and includes completed Help files (except HercGUI which is
still in progress), updated product icons and many minor bug fixes and
technical corrections including mention of the Windows PATH issue in
each product's Pre-Installation README. Future releases should
hopefully be more frequent and contain more significant enhancements.
The most significant change is the dropping of support for Windows
Vista and earlier versions of Windows. The new minimum supported
version of Windows is now Windows 7. All customers still running
Windows XP will need to upgrade. All products were developed on and
tested on Windows 7 but should hopefully also work on Windows 10 as
well. I do not have Windows 10 so I don't know for sure.
Those of you who have purchased any of my products within the past year
are eligible for a free upgrade to the new version and should receive
an email with the URL from where you can download your free upgrade.
All other customers who made their purchase over one year ago will have
to purchase the new version again or continue running the old version.
Be aware however that free support is only offered for the current
(new) version. Free support for old versions will not be provided.
To all of my customers I would like to thank you most sincerely from
the bottom of my heart. Your continuing support is helping to literally
keep me alive!
Thank you one and all, and have a safe and pleasant holiday season!

Hi Fish,

I'm curious regarding the upgrade policy.
You say this is a new version is 'minor incremental'; however you force
customers to pay full price if they purchased over a year ago.

Don't get me wrong, you can do business however you like; I'm just
wondering why you're not using a more customer-friendly approach, such as:
-free updates (ie. minor), paid upgrades (ie. major)
-paid updates/upgrades, discounted for existing customers

Thanks.
Gonzo
